Kitechallenge - a kiter's perspective
This is my story of crossing the Irish Sea with a kite and a surfboard. The Kitechallenge was dedicated to Lennon Dion Norrby (12th December 2007 - 5th October 2009)
Sunday 11th October 2009 was Kitechallenge
Today we attempted our crossing and we have very important news this evening to tell you. One kitesurfer made it out of the group so thumbs up "we did it"
The Itinerary for Sunday morning.
ITINERARY 0800hrs – All Riders to arrive at Rhanbuoy Pk, carrcikfergus (500m west of Marina – opposite Kentucky) prior to this time. Please ensure you have had an adequate breakfast!
Weather permitting - sunday is a go
we are a go for sunday as long as the weather doesnt change :-) The plan has changed slightly. We are now aiming to leave from carrick marina and head for Port logan.
Sunday 11th has been marked as the day ...
We are going to attempt the crossing on Sunday 11th. Boats are being contacted, boards are being waxed. The launch has been moved to Carrick accommodate the forecast north westerly wind.
